Arvin News
Happy Sunday,
Music has always been a core pillar of inspiration for us here at Arvin Goods. We grew up on the influence of music, but just as importantly, the record shops where you could file through all the CDs, records, and magazines. Years ago, there was a record shop in every neighborhood, sometimes multiple. Those were the days. There are very few of these shops left now. We are fortunate here in Seattle, specifically West Seattle, to have one of the most iconic shops in the country. Easy Street Records. It sits on the corner of the busiest thoroughfare in West Seattle, known as “the Junction,” and it has been there since 1989.
Check out this week’s reels HERE, and HERE to see what we are up to, but in short, we partnered with Easy Street to create some great socks. Offered in two 2-packs (not Shakur) these socks are only available at Easy Street Records here in Seattle or on the Easy Street Records website HERE.
There are many reasons to love this store and this partnership, but the primary driver for us as a brand is the owner, Matt Vaughn. Above all else, Matt is a good human, and he happens to be a walking music encyclopedia who has been involved in and helped foster some of the greatest bands and artists ever to release music. Easy Street has been an open door for indie bands in Seattle, giving them access to build an audience. Some of these “little” groups went on to become global superstars. Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Sir Mix-a-lot, Fleet Foxes, Modest Mouse, Macklemore, Band of Horses, Sleeter-Kinney, Brandi Carlile, Sub Pop Records, The Sonics, Sunny Day Real Estate, Death Cab, the list could go on and on. Easy Street has hosted 100’s of in-store performances from local and national touring acts again, the list is very impressive and could go on forever. An intimate performance in a record store venue like this is always memorable for the artist, and especially for the fan who is lucky enough to experience it. Music is the cure we all need, always.
We are so grateful to be part of projects like this, especially when we get to work on something with this much history and a team with this much talent and culture. If you are in Seattle head to the store to check in, if you’re visiting Seattle, make sure to hit Easy Street and say hi to Matt and the team, and grab some socks.
Enjoy the news below, and have a great week!

The 100 Best Album Covers of All Time - Rolling Stone
The album is the best invention of the past century, hands down — but the music isn’t the whole story. The album cover has been a cultural obsession as long as albums have. Ever since 12-inch vinyl records took off in the 1950s, packaged in cardboard sleeves, musicians have been fascinated by the art that goes on those covers, and so have fans. When the Beatles revolutionized the game with the cover of Sgt. Pepper, in 1967, it became a way to make a visual statement about where the music comes from and why it matters. But the art of the album cover just keeps evolving.
So this is our massive celebration of that art: the 100 best album covers ever, from Biggie to Beyoncé to Bad Bunny, from Nirvana to Nas to Neil Young, from SZA to Sabbath to the Sex Pistols. We’ve got rap, country, jazz, prog, metal, reggae, flamenco, funk, goth, hippie psychedelia, hardcore punk. But all these albums have a unique look to go with the sound. The most unforgettable covers become part of the music — how many Pink Floyd fans have gotten their minds blown staring at the prism on the cover of Dark Side of the Moon, after using it to roll up their smoking materials?🎧👨🏽🎤🎤

Junya Watanabe MAN FW25 Is a Nod to the Rugged Gentleman - HYPEBEAST
At Junya Watanabe MAN Fall/Winter 2025, plaid is back. The ideal of the rugged masculine, outdoorsmen iterates the latest collection that was recently shown in Paris.
Immediately setting the tone was the soundtrack of folk country which informs the audience of the looks they are about to see. Stepping out in Levi’s denim jeans paired along with traditional buffalo plaid in the conventional black and red color scheme or the Prince of Wales check, the models were reminiscent of the outdoor camper who enjoys being one with nature. Honing in on a modern interpretation of the lumberjack stereotype, clothing evokes a rugged aesthetic that channels a type of hyper masculinity. Bearded men walked the runway dressed in the latest plaid concoctions along with cowboy hats and paired down canvas chore jackets.
For the true outdoorsy working man, the the collection channels an aesthetic is for the sophisticated, often North American logging worker that borderlines the typical hipster. However, in true Junya Watanabe fashion, the collection merges dandy silhouettes in the form of leather trench coats and militant jackets and overcoats with plaid and canvas chore-like outerwear. Collaborations run high with this collection, seeing Filson strap duffels available and matching well with the outdoorsmen look. A pair of collaborative New Balance 471s grace the runway in navy as it makes its world premiere during the show along with several boat shoe loafers and trail boots. Levi’s denim jeans were also thrown into the collaborative mix.💼👨🏻

Trump’s ‘Day One’ Tariffs on Hold—For Now - Sourcing Journal
Newly inaugurated President Donald Trump did not follow through on his promise to levy new tariffs on “day one.”
The Commander in Chief, who was sworn in on Monday, issued a number executive orders related to immigration, the economy and energy within hours of taking office, but he declined to pull the trigger on any new duties on foreign-made goods—a central tenet of his campaign.
Trump instead issued a memo to federal agencies instructing them to assess America’s trade relationships with China, Mexico and Canada, including compliance with the China Phase One trade deal brokered during his first term, along with the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
Senior advisors to the president confirmed this plan to the Wall Street Journal, telling the outlet that Trump plans to direct federal agencies to develop strategies to alleviate trade deficits with other nations and address trade and currency policies that he deems unfair. The source told the outlet that Trump is seeking to advance his trade agenda “in a measured way.”🚢🏭👕
