🧦More Newness This Week
Summer Collection, Coco Gauff takes Paris, Design Milk Renovation, New Recover Tracing Pilot, Café Sessions, New Arvin Goods
Happy Sunday,
This week we are releasing some new goods. New sock colors and a new A cap. The socks are once again made in Portugal, using Recover fiber. With every cycle of design, development, and production, we learn a bit more about this fiber and the best ways to use it. On the surface it sounds simple, take some yarn and knit some socks. “It’s just socks” we hear that all the time, but it’s actually a very technical process, and using recycled materials creates another layer of complexity, because we are using a non-virgin material that acts differently in the machines. Probably more info than you want, and at the end, customers want two things: comfort and durability, actually three, you also want to look good! The original intention for Arvin Goods was to make a basic product using a lower-impact (recycled) material. We set out for sustainability first, we wanted to make a good product, but we were not trying to be “the best socks in the world” or anything. We ourselves or Recover can not (yet) prove this, but we believe the recycled fibers being shorter actually create a softer hand and a more comfortable wear from the beginning.
People love socks. Literally every time we hand someone a pair, they say “oh, I love socks” and now after developing and improving every season, we are getting the feedback that we are making some of the best socks people have ever worn. Most people never knew they should pay attention to their sock choice, they just went through life buying the general 6-pack at the store.
We think we are now making the best socks in the world. For real. And this week we are dropping some brighter summery colors on you. We hope you love it.
Enjoy the news below, and have a great rest of the week!
Hope you enjoy today’s Clean Up. We would love to hear from you. Comment here on substack hit us on social, or email us at info@arvingoods.com. Have a great week. Cheers,

A 1974 San Francisco Home Is Renovated While Honoring Its DNA - Design Milk
In San Francisco’s layered architectural landscape, few projects manage to balance legacy and modernity with the finesse demonstrated in Studio Terpeluk’s transformation of the Redwood House. Originally designed in 1974 by Albert Lanier – an influential modernist and the husband of renowned sculptor Ruth Asawa – the residence was already steeped in design significance. Lanier’s signature style, marked by geometry, immersive use of redwood, and a sensitivity to the natural surroundings, positioned the home as a quiet icon of its time. Today, thanks to an imaginative renovation, the house lives again with renewed significance.🏠🔨

New pilot tracks Recover recycled fibers through the supply chain journey - Home Textiles Today
Banyeres de Mariola, Spain – Recover, a producer of low-impact recycled cotton fiber and cotton fiber blends, is working to scale up circular textile transparency.
The material science company has partnered with TextileGenesis, a Lectra company, to pilot an initiative using Fibercoin technology to track its recycled cotton and polycotton fibers from fiber production through to finished garments. This pilot is a critical step toward compliance with the upcoming EU Digital Product Passport (DPP), which will require brands to provide verified, product-level data on material origins and sustainability.
“This pilot will enable us to test the TextileGenesis system in real-world conditions. It will provide our brand partners with verified data to support responsible sourcing, product-level disclosures, and credible circularity claims,” said Orsolya Janossy, Recover’s senior sustainability manager.♻️🛋️
